Logfret Belgium is pleased to announce we have been awarded Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status by Belgian Customs Authorities.
The Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certificate is an internationally recognised quality mark indicating that a company’s international supply chain is secure, and that its customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant. With its AEO certification in place, Logfret Belgium can be considered as a reliable and trusted partner with regard to customs transactions.
It has taken a lot of hard work to achieve AEO status but it will be worth it for the benefits that it will bring for our customers.
The AEO scheme was devised by the European Commission and is currently delivered by the customs authorities of individual member states. The principle objectives of the standard are as follows:
To expedite legal and recognised international trade
Provide assurance and security within the supply chain
Standardisation of customs procedures across the European Union
Make processes of trade more secure and efficient
The scheme obliges any company working in the international supply chain to work under approved security arrangements, customs processes and operational procedures. Cargo handling and storage procedures and sites are reviewed on a regular basis with a view to ensuring totally safe and secure transit of cargo.
The certification is internationally recognised and in an increasingly regulated and securitised industry, it is fast becoming a necessary standard for forwarders, traders, manufacturers and shipping operators throughout Europe. With regular government auditing the certificate is renewed frequently. Companies who benefit from the many advantages of certification also have to maintain high operating standards, or risk losing the status altogether. This allows us to offer something truly different to our customers at a time when security and stability of international trade has become a global main focus.
